Mirus Capital Advisors Appoints Laura Kevghas Principal

Mirus Capital Advisors, a middle-market investment bank, has announced that Laura J. Kevghas, of Westford, has been named a principal of the investment banking firm. Mirus serves venture backed start-ups, publicly traded companies, and family-owned firms throughout North America and Europe in mergers, acquisitions, buy-outs and recapitalizations.

Kevghas had previously served as vice president of Mirus from 1988 to 1996 before joining Advanstar Communications Inc., a leading worldwide media company that publishes trade magazines and Web sites and produces trade exhibitions and conferences. “We are extremely pleased to have Laura back with us,” said Mirus President Elliot Williams. “She played a key role in the early success of our firm, and the extensive merger and acquisition experience she gained during her tenure at Advanstar has prepared her to be an extremely strong advisor for our clients.”

In her most recent role as Director of Corporate Development at Advanstar, Kevghas managed acquisition teams that completed 42 acquisitions in the U.S. and abroad with purchase prices ranging from $200,000 to more than $230 million. Kevghas was responsible for the broad spectrum of tasks involved in completing transactions, from developing detailed financial models and valuation scenarios for potential transactions, planning and leading the due diligence exercise, leading or participating in negotiations, and the preparation of purchase agreement and schedules. These acquisitions more than doubled corporate revenue, which grew from $151 million to more than $375 million over a nine-year period.
